from "W.Va. Schizophrenic Blues"

"W.Va. Schizophrenic Blues" ("A SPEEDING SUBWAY TO YOUR SKULL WITH NO STOPS SCHEDULED"Dylan Tran, High Performance) is a 3 1/2 hour solo piece done at The Walker Art Center in 1994 - it is built around the true story of my mother who was a victim of the mental health institutions in W.Va. during the sixties and early seventies. It is emotionally intense and psychologically volatile. I play the characters of my mother, myself, psychiatrists and my other siblings. The installation consists of a 10' jungle gym and a chain link fence which encloses the stage. Alan Pulner directed the piece.
